Second Hand Ghosts: Part I
Before I was born, my aunt lived in a little red brick cape cod on Kennywood Boulevard. They shared the house with the former owner, a ghost. Nearly everybody in the family had seen him. They said that he looked as real enough as if he was alive. He used to talk to my aunt. My aunt's husband at the time was abusive towards her. The ghost used to protect her from him. My mother was about the only family member that never saw him. My mother was a witch. She hated the house. She said that it was always cold. She said that the man was evil, and she knew it. According to my aunt, the man's wife supposedly had left him and ran off with another man. My mother said that wasn't true. She said that he haunted the house, because he had killed his wife and buried her in the basement. He knew she knew it, and that's why he never showed himself to her. But, my mother did not see ghosts, only in her dreams. Over the years we would always drive past the house; it was in a constant state of For Sale.
I feel very fortunate to have scored one of Tatianna's beautiful Russian dolls!
